Exploring a Senior Living Community During COVID-19

Carefully Touring and Visiting

Is it safe to enter our community to view our amenities or see your loved ones?
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, many seniors and their loved ones have worried about the security of tours and interactions with residents. However, we will put your mind at ease by following proper protocols and offering digital alternatives.

Are all of our communities open again?

Yes! Our senior living communities in Texas, Meadow Lake (Tyler), The Craig (Amarillo), and Wesley Court (Abilene) recently began accepting visitors for the first time since the pandemic began. We welcome potential residents along with their families for tours; family members, friends, and others are allowed to visit our seniors as well, all within reasonable rules.

What does touring a senior living community look like during COVID-19?

Touring is an essential step in deciding which senior living community is right for you. Although we have drastically reduced our number of in-person tours and eliminated our public events due to COVID-19, we still offer you the opportunity to see one of our homes or apartments by private appointment. We are glad that you will be able to see our luxurious living spaces with modern features that may include built-in two-car garages, wood flooring, and fully-equipped kitchens with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. Whether you are interested in independent living, or need assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, respite care, or rehabilitation throughout Texas, ER Senior Management may offer all you need.

If touring in person is not the best choice for you, feel free to take a virtual tour of our commons. You can also view our three-dimensional floor plans of all our apartments and homes found on each community’s website, which is additionally filled with extraordinary photos of our residences, outdoor environments, and most importantly, our seniors.

How can you visit your loved ones?

We have utilized all the digital tools available to us throughout the pandemic, such as video visits and social media websites, to keep our seniors in touch with their friends and families. Many of our seniors, however, find that seeing the smiles of their favorite people face-to-face is much more rewarding. Luckily, Texas now allows senior living residents to see visitors who adhere to several guidelines, which include but are not limited to the following:

Each resident can be visited by two people, including:These guests should:We must train all visitors to follow these protocols that will keep everyone secure:
FriendsSpeak to their loved ones indoors or outdoors through plexiglass safety barriersOnly one visitor can see his or her loved one at a time
Immediate family membersAvoid physical contactVisitors should wear personal protective equipment at all times
RelativesDo all they can to help residents feel appreciatedVisitors must test negative for COVID-19 within 14 days of the visit

Regardless of when or how you interact with your senior, we hope you are both able to reconnect and create happy memories during this challenging time.

Why have we opened our communities?

Our senior living communities have provided fulfilling places for Texans to retire, and we will continue to maintain an ideal balance of security and social engagement. We do our best to keep our deserving residents in Abilene, Amarillo, and Tyler thriving in every way.

If you are looking for guidance, please speak with one of our helpful associates who can explain the details of in-person meetings and help you schedule a visit to one of our newly-opened communities. You can also visit the American Association of Retired Persons’ website to stay up-to-date on Texas’ guidelines. We look forward to seeing you soon!
